# Phase III (July 2024)

Phase III will focus on the following:

1. Introduction of the **Grimthorns**: 3,456 Grimthorns will be minted on the Arbitrum chain in 2024.
2. Introduction of on-chain levelling through XP/battles: Neandersmols will be able to level up based on on-chain attributes/actions from past phases. This will require a one-off battle that comes where success is not guaranteed.
3. Introduction of Daily XP claim (and Lootbox rewards): Players can claim daily XP on the <https://smolage.com> homepage and will be rewarded for streaks (i.e., consecutive daily claims). Players will have a chance of winning lootboxes by claiming XP daily.

## Grimthorns

<figure><img src="/files/BjijjHLkPCpL53yrWqAo" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

The **Grimthorns** are a sinister addition to the Smol Age universe, set to bring a darker twist to the lore of **Neanderra**. These are evil Neandersmols, distinguished by their ominous descent from the skies, now lurking throughout **Neanderra** with a penchant for preying on the unsuspecting and the weak. 3,456 Grimthorns will be minted on the Arbitrum chain.

*The mint allocation is as follows:*

<table><thead><tr><th width="262">Requirement</th><th width="275">Per NFT</th><th>Price in ETH</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td><strong>PRIVATE SALE</strong></td><td><strong>FCFS</strong></td><td>Starting at .004 ETH</td></tr><tr><td>Council Pass Holder</td><td>1 per pass</td><td>TBA</td></tr><tr><td>2+ Neandersmol Holders</td><td>1 for every 2 Neandersmols</td><td>TBA</td></tr><tr><td>Whitelist</td><td>1 per wallet</td><td>TBA</td></tr><tr><td>Team</td><td>-</td><td>-</td></tr></tbody></table>

## Levelling

<figure><img src="/files/ajfh7wGQECLkxVudiKnq" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

Neandersmols will be able to cement their status within their tribes by levelling up, through battles, and climbing the **Neanderra** leaderboard. Leveling up will entail a point system determined by Neandersmols' on-chain attributes (e.g., Commonsense and skills), number of jobs completed, number of battles fought/won, and more.

| Criteria / Attribute | Amount / Number | XP earned |
| ------------------------------- | --------------- | --------- |
| Mystic level | 1 | .1 XP |
| Farmer level | 1 | .1 XP |
| Fighter level | 1 | .1 XP |
| Commonsense level | 1 | .05 XP |
| Jobs completed | 1 | .1 XP |
| Battles Won | 1 | .2 XP |
| Battles Lost | 1 | .05 XP |
| Daily XP Claim | 1 | .005 XP |
| 5-day daily XP claim **streak** | - | .01 XP |

For example, if a Neandersmol is level 500 Mystic (50 points), 150 Common Sense (7.5 points), and has completed 10 jobs (1 point), they will have accrued 58.5 XP and will be able to level up their Neandersmol based on the following numbers:

| For Level: | Required XP | Required $BONES |
| ---------- | ----------- | --------------- |
| 1 | 1 | 1000 |
| 2 | 3 | 2000 |
| 3 | 6 | 3000 |
| 4 | 10 | 4000 |
| 5 | 15 | 5000 |

| 7 | 28 | 7000 |
| 8 | 36 | 8000 |
| 9 | 45 | 9000 |
| 10 | 55 | 10,000 |
| 11 | 66 | 11,000 |
| 12 | 78 | 12,000 |
| 13 | 91 | 13,000 |
| etc. | etc. | etc. |

Note: Leveling up your Neandersmol will cost/burn $BONES. 100% of the $BONES used to level up will be burned.

#### Emissions Boosts

Neandersmols will also be able to accrue more $BONES the higher their level within the tribe.

To see full emission boosts from 1-100 visit [XP/Levels](https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1tZoANHAdmZVYFYa-5G-liBlbHCuDSjSRthnPMJ3HCGM/edit?gid=0#gid=0).

| Level | Boost |
| ----- | ----- |
| 1 | 1.05x |
| 2 | 1.05x |
| 3 | 1.05x |
| 4 | 1.05x |
| 5 | 1.1x |
| 6 | 1.1x |
| 7 | 1.1x |
| 8 | 1.1x |
| 9 | 1.1x |
| 10 | 1.15x |

## Battles

<figure><img src="/files/XDgAe9boqRWhKEQUjUSl" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

In order to level up, Neandersmols must first prove themselves in a battle against an unknown threat. However, this is not a guaranteed success and the higher the Neandersmol’s level the more difficult the threats will become:

| Level | Success Rate |
| ----- | ------------- |
| 1 | 99% |
| 2 | 97% |
| 3 | 94% |
| 4 | 90% |
| 5 | 85% |
| 6 | 79% |
| 7 | 72% |
| 8 | 64% |
| 9 | 55% |
| 10 | 45% |
| 11 | 34% |
| 12 | 22% |
| 13 | 10% (Minimum) |
| 14 | 10% |
| 15 | 10% |
| etc. | etc. |

However, Neandersmols are able to bring items/support along for a battle to increase their chance of success:

<table><thead><tr><th width="244">Item/Support</th><th>Boost</th><th>Outcome for item</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td>Common Consumable</td><td>1.05x</td><td>Burned</td></tr><tr><td>Rare Consumable</td><td>1.1x</td><td>Burned</td></tr><tr><td>1000 $BONES</td><td>1.1x</td><td>Burned</td></tr><tr><td>Baby Dinosaur</td><td>1.2x</td><td>Returned to wallet</td></tr><tr><td>Wolf</td><td>1.2x</td><td>Returned to wallet</td></tr><tr><td>Sabertooth</td><td>1.3x</td><td>Returned to wallet</td></tr><tr><td>T-rex</td><td>1.4x</td><td>Returned to wallet</td></tr><tr><td>Mammoth</td><td>1.4x</td><td>Returned to wallet</td></tr><tr><td>Whale</td><td>1.5x</td><td>Returned to wallet</td></tr><tr><td>5000 $BONES</td><td>1.5x</td><td>Burned</td></tr></tbody></table>
